New mileage rate for official state travel
Beginning on January 1, 2008, the mileage rate
for using a personally owned
vehicle for official State travel was changed to $.505 per mile.
Reimbursement at this rate is made if a state vehicle is not available
and
when renting a car through the State Enterprise contract doesn't
make
financial sense.
You should contact the Parking Office to arrange
for your
transportation needs either with a state vehicle or a rental. If
a state
vehicle is not available, you can use the Office
of Fleet Management (OFMS)
trip calculator
to
determine if using an Enterprise rental vehicle is the better alternative.
This analysis will need to be attached to
your Prior Approval to Travel if
requesting reimbursement at the higher mileage rate.
